Father's day and Levi's early birthday!

This past weekend we drove up to Ventura for a whirlwind visit. The Bosman's do Father's day in a special way each year. Pappie is the king, gets whatever he wants, and we all do it with a smile! Needless to say, we all used to be a lot better at getting him coffee at 6am and breakfast in bed immediately following. This year (and the past few, to be honest), coffee came late, breakfast much later, and we all went back to bed. :) He got his paper though, so he was happy for awhile. The rest of the day was planned out by him, we followed along happily celebrating our Pappie. We made an amazing lunch, the menu of which he "created"...we were a little worried, but it turns out it was superb. He grilled salmon and burgers, freaking amazing. The burger was so juicy, and if followed by a sip of scotch, I can honestly say that it was the most amazing burger I have ever experienced. The salmon was also grilled to perfection, and on a toasted bun with alfalfa, tarter sauce and cabbage, it was quite the experience!

Taking a quick break from father's day, we celebrated Levi's birthday with the Bosman's as well. A few days early, and it was amazing. Levi got a barbeque, which for those who know the background story, is an AMAZING gift. :) We plan on putting it to use tonight for a reenactment of Sunday's burgers.

Such hams. :)

Adorable. :)

Meisie wanted some too...she knows what a barbeque means. :)

He likes it. :)

Samuel was pretty proud of his card choice. It was a prank card, that didn't open. My dad got a kick out of it too. :)

Levi also took a few shots with the camera...I think I have some competition on who is learning to use the camera effectively, faster! Check out these amazing images!

Pictures from this month...

Some shots from Levi's dad's birthday and the Storm Game a few weekends ago. We drove up to Lake Elsinore to celebrate his 57th! So fun to sit in the box with a catered dinner and amazing family. Game was great- we won! Afterwards, there was an amazing fireworks show. See the photos!

Beer and a baseball game!

Karynne and Kennedie showin' some love. Less hammie than the others. :)

Some awesome clouds enveloping the Ortegas.

The fireball of a cake. :)

Fireworks over the stadium!

Basically, what she said... I'll think of something and get back to you all later :)

Summer "Vacation"

I quote vacation only because I'm not sure how long it will last, or what it will consist of. Its not all that relaxing when you're supposed to be looking for a new job! Although my job is over now, my contract ends June 30th. That means one more paycheck until I am officially unemployed. :) Ergo, I have about two weeks before I need to find a job to keep the money comin'. Until then, I have lots of crafts I want to do, a book I want to write, and one to read, people I want to visit, and classes I want to take. I also want to get back in shape, learn/invent more delicious recipes, spend more quality time with the friends that we've made down here, and get a dog. The latter won't happen, but I figured that blogging about it might help it become a reality. Without a job to support its appetite however, it seems pretty bleak. :(

Levi is also looking, more adamantly that I am, admittedly. He seems to be a bit more motivated to get out of the house. I blame boredom. Now that his class is over, I think he's looking for something productive to do. Entertaining me and my idleness won't last for very long. The cats aren't much of an impetus to stay home neither, for him at least. I miss them, and I remember way back when I didn't have a job, I hung out with them a lot. A lot, a lot. :) That was fun, and its getting fun again. They used to like Levi more since he was home more, but now that they see me more again, I think they like me just as much once more. Sorry for the cat rant. I'm weird, I know. Don't rub it in. :P

I love Twitter. I think that needs to be said. There is something so cool about knowing just as much as the media does about the situation in Iran because of some folks over there that I am following. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Insane too, to see the photos that they are posting. An incredible situation, for both good and bad. I need to read more to comment on the situation, but I'd like to maintain that integrity in government in crucial to a country's well-being.

Currently watching Wipeout on the DVR after the beach and In and Out, day two of "vacation" and we are already ridiculously cool. Love to all, let us know if you have any leads on jobs in the San Diego area. We are willing to move, but the lease is difficult to manage our way out of. We're just going where God tells us.

I swear I'll post those pics soon, hopefully before softball next Tuesday, since I want to shoot that too. My memory card isn't that big...I have no choice. ;)

6 days!

only 6 school days until I am through with my first year of teaching. What an accomplishment! Can't wait until I'm through, although I'm not looking forward to a summer/next year of complete unemployment. If you know of any marketing/PR/Journalism/English/Teaching jobs, let me know. I'm available until I hear from the district. Most likely until the week school starts. We'll see. Pondering career changes in this hectic economy. Will this last? I need a job!

Love to all, I'll update from our weekend in Lake Elsinore soon. We went to a box at the Storm Stadium for Daddy-O's birthay. 57! Woohoo!
